TATURA has been manufacturing infant formula for customers since 1993 and has developed supply arrangements with companies in Australia, China, Korea and Taiwan. Some of the formulations we have developed in conjunction with these companies are very complex and are, of course, manufactured to very tight quality specifications.

The initial infant formula business at TATURA started in co-operation with Snow Brands of Japan. Snow indicated their interest in manufacturing infant formula in the Goulburn Valley of Northern Victoria for the local Australian market and for export into South East Asia.

TATURA QUALITY

The company operates within a strict quality environment monitoring and evaluating the quality of product from the farm through to the quality of the final product delivered into the customers care.

TATURA do not produce infant products under their own brand. Customers entering into a supply agreement must provide their own formulation that has been closely checked against the regulatory requirements for the country of destination. TATURA will manufacture to the specification provided and will guarantee product quality within the limits set by the customer as detailed in this specification.

Products currently manufactured include:
Infant formula – stage 1 for 0-6 month old infants.
Follow-on Formula – stage 2 for 6-12 month old infants.
Growing-up Milk Powder – stage 3 for 12-24 month old toddlers.

TATURA’s current infant capability comprises wet-mix dry ingredient addition and two Niro Multi-Stage driers. The largest of these (approx 5.5MT/hr) was installed in 2001.

TATURA pack their infant products into cans and gas-flushed bags ranging from 25kg up to bulk bags of approximately 800kg.
