TATURA
plays a significant role in the local community. The company directly injects significant value to dairyfarmer/shareholders for milk supplied and to its 370 employees as wages.  The company also is an extensive user of local contractors and support services.  TATURA contributes to the Victorian economy as a major exporter.

With a worldwide demand for clean, fresh food, Australian dairy produce is becoming the preferred source of dairy ingredients around the world. Australia's competitive advantages are:

  • Proximity to major markets such as Asia, Middle East and the Pacific Rim;
  • Production at low cost high quality milk off extensively grazed improved pastures; and
  • Latest technology in manufacturing plant.

TATURA is located in the Goulburn Valley in northern Victoria.

Victoria has one of the world's best recipes for natural wholesome foods: a temperate climate, a variety of rich soil types, an abundant supply of clean rivers and well established irrigation systems. This idyllic combination provides year round grazing for the regions 400 thousand dairy cows.

It is these factors that has seen Victorian dairy produce dominate the Australian dairy export sector, providing 25% of the countries total output.  Goulburn Valley dairy farmers are among the most efficient in the world.  Our farmers have extensive low input farming systems, advanced skills, and are environmentally responsible and sensitive.

TATURA has around 330 suppliers of quality milk. These professional farmers are the corner stone of the company.  The vast majority of our suppliers are located within a 30 kilometre radius of the factory. This ready access to milk reduces transport costs, increases quality and provides the ability to maintain a single site.
